Parking
The UO is not able to provide free parking passes for reserved spaces on campus. Broadcast media in marked vehicles can park briefly in the closed portion of 13th Avenue in front of Johnson Hall when filming interviews.  Media not in marked vehicles should contact Communications at 541-346-3134 to request a guest parking spot in the Johnson Hall parking lot pending availability. Other options include metered parking areas or fee lots that are open to the public.

Credentials and Special Events
In general, credentials are not required for non-athletics events. For events of high interest or limited capacity, the Communications office will inform news organizations in advance if credentials are required. Occasionally, reporters and photographers may be asked to show identification from their news organization, especially at special events and to access media areas at commencement and convocation ceremonies.

Wifi
The University of Oregon has an extensive wireless network that provides service throughout the campus and a number of off-campus locations. Media requests for guest access can be made by contacting Julie Brown, director of communications, at 541-346-3185 or julbrown@uoregon.edu. Guest access allows for up to seven consecutive days of use. Advanced notice of a campus visit is preferable; however, last-minute requests can be accommodated pending availability.

Public Records Requests
The Office of Public Records responds to requests from media and members of the public for university records. For information or to submit a records request, visit http://publicrecords.uoregon.edu/.

Confirmation of status for students and alumni
The Communications staff can confirm if specific individuals are currently enrolled, if he or she earned a degree, if so, his or her area of study and the year it was conferred. It is helpful to have a birth date or another method to help identify the person. To avoid an incorrect report, please be sure you have the correct spelling of names. Reporters also may use the UO Online Directory.
