Juan Epple is a professor of Spanish. Born and educated in Chile, Epple is an expert on South American and Hispanic literature.

Epple earned both his master’s degree and doctorate from Harvard University, in 1977 and 1980, respectively. Since then, Epple has written over a dozen books, with topics ranging from creative writing to post-modernism in Latin America. Epple is also the author of two textbooks.
