Yong Zhao, presidential chair, College of Education

International consulting, education in the age of globalization

Yong Zhao currently serves as the presidential chair and associate dean for global education in the College of Education. He is an internationally-recognized consultant, scholar, author and speaker.

His current work focuses on designing schools in the context of globalization and the digital revolution. He has also developed video games designed for language learning and founded research institutions that explore innovative education models. Before coming to the UO, Zhao was the university distinguished professor at the College of Education, Michigan State University. He also served as the founding director of the Center for Training and Technology and executive director of the Confucius Institute at Michigan State.
