Sharon J. Paul is an academic expert in choral conducting, choral music history, choirs and score study. At the University of Oregon, she is a professor of music and the director of Choral Studies. Her new book, Art & Science in the Choral Rehearsal, is on student engagement in rehearsals and how conductors can design their rehearsal technique by taking into account how the brain learns, retains, and recalls information. The University of Oregon Chamber Choir, under Sharon’s direction, has garnered international acclaim in recent years, winning top honors at festivals in Germany, Estonia, and Ireland.
