MEDIA ADVISORY: UO and LCC grow partnership to help transfer students

What: On Thursday, October 19, Lane Community College will launch their new Transfer Center, in the middle of National Transfer Student Week. The center will serve as a hub for LCC students to meet with their prospective transfer institutions to discuss admissions, academics, financial aid, and other student support offices. UO staff from advising and admissions will be on site on Thursday to meet with LCC students. They will be returning monthly throughout fall term to provide guidance and answer questions. The collaboration stems a new “DuckLane” partnership between the two institutions to make it easier for Titans to become Ducks, and vice versa. The agreement, formalized in a memorandum of understanding, helps identify and reduce barriers, including perceived barriers, for students.

Where: The Transfer Center is located at Lane Community College, in the Student Success Building, on the east side of campus.
